On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Talladega Superspeedway wrapped up. Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain won the race, taking his second triumph of the season. There were many aspects of the race to break down. In fact, Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson had some interesting takes on this race.

Busch said, “It was too stuck in line. Not able to maneuver well enough. Not able to make a third lane go. But even if you had three lanes, then what? If there’s three lanes that are all running equal together.”

Meanwhile, Larson observed that the Next Gen car proved how different it was from its predecessor. According to him, everyone ran around the bottom because it was hard for the second lane to speed up.

How did Kyle Busch and Larson perform in the race?

Despite their apparent difficulty in wrestling the cars, both Busch and Larson did well in the race. In fact, Kyle Busch managed to score third place behind Chastain and Austin Dillon. Meanwhile, Hendrick Motorsports star and defending champion Larson ended the race in fourth place. He was the meat in a Joe Gibbs Racing sandwich between Busch and Martin Truex Jr. While all that was going on, Denny Hamlin was down in 18th, with Christopher Bell in 22nd. On the Hendrick front, Chase Elliott was 7th, with Alex Bowman 9th and William Byron in 15th place.

Fortunately for the two of them, they have already booked their spots in the Playoffs. Now, all they need to do is try and rack up more wins and challenge Chase Elliott for the championship lead. Currently, Elliott is leading the pack to be the regular-season champion. However, the season is pretty long, and just about anything can happen between now and the final race of the regular season.
