When Kyle Larson joined Hendrick Motorsports a few months ago, there were a lot of doubts about his move. Those doubts had a lot to do with Larson’s absence from NASCAR for almost the entire 2020 season and the time it would take for him to get back into his groove.

Add the pressure of performance for one of the biggest NASCAR teams, and many believed that Larson could find it difficult to find form right away. However, the talented driver wasted no time in finding his place among the frontrunners.

Larson showed impressive speed right away in his No. 5 car, recording a win in just his fouth start with the new team. Along with the Las Vegas win, he also has five top-10 finishes in just the first six races of the 2021 NASCAR Cup season.

With his performances so far, Larson has shown a great ability to absorb all the pre-season pressure. Those doubts never bothered the driver a lot.

Kyle Larson lauds the positivity at Hendrick Motorsports

“I know there’s always going to be doubters, and that’s something I’ve accepted,” Larson said in a recent interview.

Larson was always considered as one of the most talented drivers out there; it was just a matter of clicking well with the crew chief and the rest of the team once he started working with Hendrick Motorsports.

What Larson saw once he stepped into the new team gave him a great indication of why HMS has been so successful over the years.

“The whole organization is amazing. The energy that’s in the shop. Everybody’s extremely positive and wanting to go out there and compete at a high level and win races, so it’s no surprise they’ve had the success that they’ve had,” Larson expressed.

Stunning start off the blocks for Larson

Larson has certainly been the most consistent driver so far this Cup season. He has looked quite dominant on certain occasions, and came close to a second win this season at Atlanta, after dominating the entire race. However, he just fell short and settled for second place.
