Kyle Larson tore up the track in the third race of the season at Las Vegas, showing everyone how it’s done by winning both stages at the 1.5-mile race track. Driving the #5 car, he managed to keep Tyler Reddick at bay to clinch a victory at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The win actually marked a hat trick for Chevrolet, bagging all three races at the start of the year, while it was Larson’s 24th trip to victory lane, inching him closer to cementing his own legacy in racing. Yet, when chatting on SiriusXM Radio, Kyle Larson mentioned he’s not sweating over the legacy talk just yet, he’s just focused on the race track.

The Sunday race caught the eyes of 4.359 million viewers on average, marking an 8.4% jump from the previous year. Even though the 2024 Pennzoil 400 didn’t end with the heart-stopping excitement of a three-wide finish like Atlanta’s race, it had its moments of brilliance, especially with Kyle Larson’s skillful win. This victory not only spotlighted Larson’s prowess on the track but also made the race the most-watched sports event in the U.S. that weekend.

With an impressive win, Larson definitely drew a crowd, shaping a legacy as he goes. But, for now, he’s keeping his focus on the track: “I don’t know, I feel like… I don’t want to focus too much on it, yet, because I feel… I still have… a lot of room to win a lot more races. So hopefully I’m creeping up on that list, even more throughout the next you know, five or six years, and… you can really set your goals of… of where I want to end up. But as of right now, I’m just trying to go in races and I’m not really… worried about the legacy part of it on my end as I’m sitting here at 31 years old go in the middle of my career.”

He added, “But no, it is great to win, obviously. They’re really hard. And you know, I hope to… on the road, be up, near the top 10. For right now we just got to keep doing a good job and number will take care of themselves.”

Larson takes it one race at a time, whether it’s behind the wheel of a sprint car or a stock car, aiming to make the most of each day. That’s why his victory in Las Vegas means so much to him.

With Kyle Larson leading a whopping 181 out of 267 laps, one might think he had an easy ride. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. In a post-race chat, Larson opened up about how he was on his toes, especially with Tyler Reddick breathing down his neck in the last leg of the race. Yet, he was confident that his car and his skills were top-notch.

Larson pointed out, “I feel like we just get our car better and better every time we come back. I felt like I was better this time than the fall race so and even compared to the others…other races her. It’s never been easy. You know I had to hold off Bell here in the fall, hold off Reddick here late so.”

Now, with Larson keeping Chevy’s winning streak alive, all eyes are on how he’ll tackle Phoenix, especially with the new short-track package in play.
