Long before we knew Kyle Larson for what we know him today for-as arguably the best racing drivers in the country, we knew him as a rising star. But it wasn’t that he wasn’t winning races back then. And also, it wasn’t that his wife wasn’t celebrating in the way we know her for today.

Katelyn Larson and her shotgun celebration, in which she chugs down an entire can of beer whenever her husband wins, is very well known at this point.

But if we look back in the past, probably the first time the world took notice of this celebration was in 2019. This was when Larson won the race in Dover, which must’ve been a special one for him as a driver, considering the race he had won was the 100th race at Dover.

And his wife was right there in victory lane to support her husband in his special moment. She chugged down an entire Busch Light, which the cameras of NBC caught her doing.

Afterward, Kyle Larson reacted to that video. “Oh no, they got it on camera,” he said.

“That’s great,” Larson said as he laughed. He added, “She’s right over there, in her phone. She’s gotten some fame from shotgunning beers. We’ve just been holding off on the win so she could shotgun one.”

But as for his shotgunning abilities, Larson kept it real – “I can shotgun a White Claw. But, I sure as heck cant shotgun a beer.”

Kyle Larson wants a beer sponsor for his wife

After winning the 2021 Cup Series title, at the awards ceremony, Kyle Larson asked the beer companies to sponsor his wife after her iconic celebration went viral post-Phoenix.

Larson asked, “Can we get this girl a beer sponsorship yet?”

“I’m not sure how I feel about you stealing thunder in victory lane while you shotgun your beers,” Larson said, much to the amusement of the crowd.

In 2022, and the coming seasons, fans of the Larsons will surely hope for two things – that Kyle Larson keeps on winning and adding to his legend and that Katelyn Larson finds a good hangover remedy.
