If ever there was a doubt in Kyle Larson being the number one driver at Hendrick Motorsports, well, those doubts can go to bed now. Because the defending Cup champion is truly emerging as the face of the winningest team in NASCAR history, be it on-track action or off-track activities.

He was recently present at Harmony Elementary School on behalf of his NASCAR team as part of their “Hendrick Get Set Go!” project.

Larson presented the school with a $25,000 check as part of the grant and spent some quality time with the students.

“Getting to see what they work on at school and what’s important to them is awesome, so to be a small part of it is really cool,” the defending Cup champion described. “Like I said, just glad to be here and happy to see the excitement that’s in all of their faces.”

The program, “Hendrick Get Set Go!” is aimed at focusing on supporting STEM-based programs in schools across the United States. However, there’s one more Hendrick program in the making, of which Kyle Larson can be a part.

However, the driver lineup for the same wasn’t announced yet.

But looking at the current state of things at HMS, one can make a pretty strong case for Kyle Larson to be leading the Hendrick Le Mans team next year. The No.5 driver won 10 races last season in the Cup Series, and on top of that, he had a lot of exploits in dirt racing as well.

Then there were the encouraging comments of Jeff Gordon, the current Vice President of HMS, about Larson taking part in the INDY500 in the future with the involvement of HMS.

So although nothing is certain yet, Kyle Larson driving for Hendrick next year in France is a big, big possibility.

And it’s only fair, he has earned his status. The man from Elk Grove has proved repeatedly that no matter the kind of racecar you put him in, he’s capable of competing and competing for the wins.
