It’s no wonder Dale Earnhardt Jr. reacted the way he did after learning something about Kyle Busch from the young Ty Gibbs. The young Xfinity Series driver was recently a guest on the NASCAR Hall of Famer’s popular podcast show.
During their conversation, Earnhardt Jr. asked Gibbs – “Have you ever flipped anybody off in a racecar?”
“Yes, I learned that. Kyle told me not to do that anymore,” Ty Gibbs replied, to which the host asked, “Kyle who!?”

“Busch,” the young JGR driver answered.
This led Earnhardt Jr. to ask a cheeky question, one which was perhaps rhetorical – “Did he tell you that he’s also flipped people off?”
“He’s a bit of a hypocrite, I guess,” Dale Jr. added.

“Flipped him off at Phoenix,” Davis recalled.
“Oh yeah,” Earnhardt confirmed.

Dale Earnhardt Jr is impressed with Ty Gibbs
Ty Gibbs, who has taken the NASCAR world by storm with his finishes in the Xfinity Series and in the Cup Series as of late filling in for a recovering Kurt Busch, found himself on the other end of a mouthful of praise by Dale Jr.
“I was so impressed by Ty,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “I just wanted to publicly say how impressed I am with Ty. He takes some criticism and he makes changes and he improves. He evolves.”

Earnhardt Jr. even went on to claim that Ty Gibbs is “everything” one would want in a racecar driver when it comes to seeing a mistake, learning from it, and moving on to get better at their craft.
“He’s everything you’d want in a driver in terms of seeing a mistake or seeing the repercussions from something and trying to be better going forward,” he emphasized.
