“It Went Horribly Wrong”- Jimmie Johnson Frustrated With Last Lap Crash

Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson was less a lap away from winning his first race phase of the period Sunday when he destroyed on the last lap of the fragment.

Jimmie Johnson made a statement on Twitter. Talking about his NASCAR race-finishing crash he said that it just went ‘horribly wrong’.

Johnson started to lead the pack at Darlington Raceway from his Hendrick Motorsports colleague, Alex Bowman, on Lap 81. With the primary stage finishing on Lap 90. The No 48 Chevrolet driver appeared as though he’d voyage to win the stage. It would have earned him a season finisher point for the postseason. And it would have been just the third stage triumph of his profession since the 2017 season.

However, on that last lap of the initial stage, Johnson — who is resigning from full-time Cup Series dashing toward the finish of the 2020 season — was coming up behind Chris Buescher in the No. 17 Ford and was prepared to lap him. It looked like Buescher needed to lift, and Johnson wasn’t set up for it and ran into the rear of the No. 17 vehicle.

The contact sent Johnson into the divider before he could finish Lap 90 of 293 and win the initial phase of Sunday’s Real Heroes 400. Rather, William Byron, another Hendrick Motorsports partner, won the first of three phases.

The disaster area finished Johnson’s day, denoting the second race he has not completed for the current year after the season-opening Daytona 500. Presently through NASCAR’s initial five races of the 2020 season — it held four preceding suspending the season in view of the COVID-19 pandemic — Johnson’s best completion is fifth at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the second race of the year.
