In the world of NASCAR, tire performance is crucial to a driver’s success on the track. However, sometimes the relationship between teams and tire manufacturers can become strained when things don’t go as planned. Such is the case with Rodney Childers, the renowned crew chief for Kevin Harvick, who recently took to Twitter to express his frustration with Goodyear after a disappointing race at Nashville Superspeedway.

SHR Crew Chief Calls Out Tire Manufacturer, Deems It ‘Cr*p Luck’

Rodney Childers lamented the “Crap luck on the tire deal” that his team had experienced and praised Harvick and the entire Stewart-Haas Racing team for their efforts throughout the weekend. It was clear that Childers believed his driver had a fast car and that their performance was compromised by tire issues.

In his tweet, Childers stated, “🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Crap luck on the tire deal… Fast car all weekend… Really proud of @KevinHarvick and everyone @StewartHaasRcng @roushyates… Gotta keep fighting.. 👊🏼.”

Childers writes this in response to an earlier tweet posted by the Senior NASCAR writer at Catchfence, Lee Spencer. He said,
@RodneyChilders4 tells @KevinHarvick that @GoodyearRacing said there was a puncture in the No. 4 tire so “we feel good about what we’ve got here.” P26@NashvilleSuperS @StewartHaasRcng”

The incident that prompted Childers’ tweet occurred during the race at Nashville Superspeedway, where Harvick struggled to maintain a competitive position. The No. 4 car, despite showing promise in practice sessions, was unable to deliver the desired performance during the race.

“Would’ve had a real shot to beat the 1 to win that race if that didn’t happen. Unbelievable. Could’ve had 2 wins this season if not 3… on to the next”

“I think the 4 wins if not for the flat tire, no worse than second for sure”

“Man! Y’all had a shot at it, would’ve loved to see how it would’ve played out without the tire issue.”

“So proud of all you guys. We got the speed now”
