Now, who doesn’t love a nice avocado? There is so much you can do with the green, healthy, fat-rich fruit (yep, it’s a fruit). You can mash it up nicely and throw in some lemon and onions to make the perfect guacamole. Or, slice it up and throw it on toast for a hearty breakfast. Well, why are we talking about avocados, you may ask? It is National Avocado Day!

And former NASCAR Cup Series and IndyCar driver, Danica Patrick, has jumped on the Avocado love train to celebrate it!

Patrick recently posted on her Instagram about the big day for the green fruit.

Now, the celebration wasn’t done alone, of course. In fact, Guacamole and Plant-based dips brand, Good Foods, sponsored the post.

What Makes National Avocado Day So Special That Danica Patrick Is Celebrating It?

This delicious green fruit is not native to the United States. In fact, avocados originated in Mexico and stayed predominantly in the South American region. However, in the early 20th century adventurer and U.S. Department of Agriculture botanist, David Fairchild decided to change that.

Fairchild introduced this healthy-fat-rich fruit to the US. So, this engrained the origin of Avocado in the Agricultural History of America.
