Bobby Allison‘s 5-acre property is on sale for a price tag of $697,700. The Allison family moved into the Hueytown property in Alabama in 1969 due to the undying love that Bobby had for short-track races, and Hueytown was the go-to place for it. It’s been 54 years since the Allison family moved into the property that could be called a racer’s paradise.

But in the 2000s, Bobby and his wife, Judy, moved to Charlotte and handed the house to their daughter, Bonnie. However, as Bonnie is retiring and downsizing her affairs, she shows a glimpse of the house as she travels down memory lane.

Bonnie has spent most of her childhood in the Hueytown property as she was just seven years old when her family relocated from Miami to Alabama. Amid the final goodbye to the property, she has shared some details exclusive to her knowledge.

While touring the house, Frontstretch reporter Michael Massie couldn’t help but notice the uncommon basement design. He asked Bonnie, “We’re now in the basement of the home, which Bobby turned into a bar, you know hangout lounge area. What would you describe this area as?”

Bonnie started by clarifying Massie’s doubt about the basement being a party lounge and revealed who used to hang out in there and said, “Well let’s clarify, it wasn’t really a party room. It was Christmas, we would have Christmas parties here. Most of the people that hang out here were us as teenagers and our friends. Yeah! We had a lot of fun down here.”

Upon knowing the exclusivity tag bearing on the Alabama property, Massie asked Bonnie if any NASCAR driver apart from Bobby had been to the basement. Bonnie emphasized it being a family area. However, she spilled a few names she could recall coming to the basement and said, “Mainly a family area. I’m sure that during the Christmas events, probably like Red Farmer, Neil Bonnett, and then family of course hang out here. I don’t remember honestly back that far to know if there was any, in particular, there is a chance that Marty Robbins may have been down here, so that’s pretty special”

Following his passion for racing, Bobby made a monumental decision and came to Alabama. But what did the legendary racer do on his decades-old property that it became a racer’s haven?

It won’t be wrong to assume that a house having racer-friendly amenities would be the top choice for Bobby Allison. The Alabama property’s multiple workshops and a five-car garage are nothing less than a heaven for racing fanatics. So, it’s no surprise that Allison chose that place.

Bobby Allison and his sons Davey and Clifford prepped several racecars in their in-house garage. Moreover, the NASCAR Hall of Famer used to run his short-track cars out of the same place. On top of that, when Davey’s career in the NASCAR Xfinity Series commenced, his team operated in one of the garages, looking after the workings of the car.
