Formula 1 has made its way back to American shores with Miami Grand Prix action this weekend. This marks one of the three visits scheduled for this year. The US Grand Prix in Austin and the Las Vegas Grand Prix are to come later this season. However, if you are lucky enough to get a ticket to witness the marquee event, make sure you pack your lunch from home.

Formula 1 is an experience, and by no means is the sport cheap. And this was rightly on display with their sky-high pricing of food and beverages throughout the weekend. Ryan Ellis was one of the lucky guys who managed to experience the weekend F1 vibe. But he was soon made to rethink his choices after looking at the food menu.

Taking to X, Ellis shared the prices of the menu. He wrote in the caption, “F1 is a little more expensive than nascar.” Taking pity on his fellow Xfinity Series star, Matt Dibenedetto, via his X account, humorously replied, “Looks like we need to start a GoFundMe for @ryanellisracingto be able to eat at the F1 race 😂.”

Well, if steamed buns are priced at $120, and nacho chips cost $180, Dibenedetto’s idea of creating a GoFundMe certainly isn’t far-fetched. NASCAR fans were in utter disbelief after looking at how expensive the F1 experience can get. And they were quick to chime in with their responses.

NASCAR fans react to the outrageous pricing at Miami Grand Prix

One fan was forced to take his words back after complaining about inflated food prices during an Ice hockey event in Las Vegas. “Holy crap!!! 😳🤯and I thought eating at T-Mobile Arena in Vegas for a Golden Knights game was expensive 😂”.

Unable to comprehend the value of food on the menu, a fan got confused about the currency sign and even tried confirming if indeed it was dollars. “Thats gotta be in pesos right?”

NASCAR events at times have been under the scanner for their pricing on beverages. However, looking at how Formula 1 treats its guests and fans, a user backtracked on his criticism. “You know I go to races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and bitch about spending $12 for a beer but then I see prices for concessions at an F1 GP and think well $12 for a beer isn’t that bad”.

A European F1 fan reacting to the misery of American race fans at Miami GP chimed in stating, “Seems like an America problem, we don’t have those type of prices in Europeans GPs”.

One NASCAR loyalist even opened up a poll for the fans to choose from, “the real question is, would you rather have $120 steamed buns or a martinsville hotdog?” For perspective, one can get 60 hot dogs for the price of F1 steamed buns, as it’s reasonably priced at $2.

Would you still pay for the luxurious F1 treatment after this reveal? If so, we’d be interested to know the reasoning behind the same.
