Matt DiBenedetto is locked in a massive battle for the final playoff berth against Jimmie Johnson and William Byron. Recently, DiBenedetto spoke to Alan Cavanna about his chances of making the cut. He confessed that this has been a stressful week and the race in Dover hadn’t been too kind to him and the team.

After the Dover race, he tweeted a bunch of angry emojis. Explaining the reaction, he said, “That was much better than the words that would have come out of my mouth. Not anything towards the team or anything like that, all of us were on the same page. Dover kicked our b***! It was terrible!”

The 29-year-old also revealed his passion for weight-lifting and that it became a massive stress reliever. As it turned out, he got into physical fitness when he was younger. Over the years, all that working out helped him become shredded. This became more apparent, especially when he reached his high school stage.

What else did Matt DiBenedetto say?

The Wood Brothers Racing driver also confessed to the time when he posted a picture of himself in his undergarments. Apparently, he was extremely bored after being cooped up in his house for so long.

Clearly, the pandemic is getting to everybody, and DiBenedetto figured that this was the best way to alleviate the tediousness.

The driver also revealed that he and Jimmie Johnson didn’t see eye-to-eye after the race in Dover. As it turned out, Johnson ‘flipped him the bird’ as they got in each other’s way. He said, “Jimmie is on my bad side this week because he flipped me the bird at Dover.”

As far as the playoff battle is concerned, Matt DiBenedetto admitted that he cannot afford to get stressed about the situation. All he can do is put his head down and prepare for the race to the best of his ability.
