Motor racing is regarded as one of the most dangerous sporting activities. So, the racers are usually paid handsomely, either through their contracts or through sponsors. Naturally, some drivers will try and indulge themselves by buying expensive cars or houses. Matt DiBenedetto definitely indulged himself when he bought a Lamborghini Huracan.
Sadly, it now seems that the driver is selling the supercar. He confessed that he had ‘fun’ owning the car and he met amazing friends who became part of the family.

The dark green machine looked stunning, but the driver has elected to go down the route of practicality. He said on social media, “It’s no secret that I LOVE cars but currently it doesn’t pass the “do I really need it” test as my father would say. I’ll sure miss this car but at the end of the day it’s just a car and I’m thankful to have had it! Thanks Chicago Motor Cars SC for working on finding her a good home!”

Matt DiBenedetto is still searching for a Cup Series drive
Unfortunately, poor old DiBenedetto is out of a drive for the 2022 Cup season. Harrison Burton is taking over his #21 seat at Wood Brothers Racing. Of course, he is not the only one, as the likes of Ryan Newman, Ryan Preece, and Anthony Alfredo are also free agents.

With just a handful of seats remaining, it will be an interesting race to see whether they can fill the vacant spots. All four of them are talented drivers, and Newman is not ready to hang up his boots just yet. Meanwhile, Matt DiBenedetto will be trying to prepare one heck of a pitch to get a NASCAR team to notice him. In the worst-case scenario, he could try for an Xfinity or a Truck Series seat.
