MBM Motorsports does not rank among the biggies of NASCAR. Their novice status is also impacted by the fact that they took a hiatus. But now they are all set to return to the racetrack, with a prominent driver enrolled for a vibrant Cup schedule this year. Timmy Hill will again join the ranks of the racing team. He attempted a Daytona 500 race in 2022 but failed to qualify for it.

Carl Long, who started racing way back in 1983 and entered NASCAR’s Cup Series in 2000 started the MBM team in 2014. He made 176 starts across the three tiers, including 26 in the premier tier, or Cup level. Now Carl is welcoming back Timmy Hill into his team’s fold.

Journalist Joseph Srigley recently updated X about the development. He tweeted: “NEWS: @MBMMotorsports will field an entry in the NASCAR Cup Series event at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) next weekend, with @TimmyHillRacer behind the wheel of the No. 66 Ford Mustang.”

Timmy Hill has never driven full-time, but he has some impressive achievements under his belt. He has competed in 141 Cup Series races over the course of his career. Besides, he has 238 Starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and 75 Starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He had his career-high of 21 races in the 2018 season, including 18 for MBM Motorsports.

Recently, Timmy Hill turned heads with his impressive finishes at the 2024 Xfinity races. In Daytona, he secured a top-ten finish of 8th, while in Atlanta a top-20 finish wowed his fans as he swerved into 18th place. Hill is set to drive the No. 66 Ford at Circuit of The Americas next weekend. Before Hill, J.J. Yeley was the last driver who competed for MBM. He piloted the No. 55 car at Talladega Superspeedway in April 2022.

Yet where there is good news, there is bound to be a slice of bad news as well. Even as Timmy Hill got into the Cup Series schedule, another potential MBM driver could not get his break.
