Last week, the 2021 Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) season concluded at Nashville Fairgrounds. Chase Elliott made a wildcard appearance and went on to win the race, with a massive battle with former NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip on the way.
To make matters better for Elliott, he and father Bill Elliott shared the front row for the first heat. Elliott Sr then rolled back the years when he led the majority of the heat and held off his son to win.
During the second heat, Willy T. Ribbs and Michael Waltrip were on the front row. Although Waltrip led initially, he fell backward while Hélio Castroneves won the second heat. At the end of it all, series founder Tony Stewart clinched the championship after accumulating enough points.

How did the feature race pan out for Chase Elliott?
Once again, Bill Elliott proved that age is just a number when he bagged the feature race pole. Alongside him was Bobby Labonte on the front. Elliott Sr held onto the lead for quite a while until the first caution. Beyond that, Chase Elliott slotted into second and began to hound his father. However, he proved to be a hard nut to crack until the second caution of the race.
Unfortunately, it did not last, and Chase pounced for the lead, with Stewart following him through. After a third caution, Elliott Jr caught onto the lead and held it until the end of the race. In the end, Chase won ahead of Stewart and father Bill Elliott. Without a doubt, it would have been a proud moment to share a podium with his dad.

With that win under his belt, the Hendrick Motorsports driver is now headed to the New Hampshire race, high on confidence. Sadly, he was unable to win the race, but definitely gave it his best shot. Unfortunately, technical infringements got him and teammate Alex Bowman into trouble.
