“Might as Well Stop Trying” – Frustrated Kyle Busch Makes Disheartening Confession Amid Unfortunate Result in Truck Series
Kyle Busch was perhaps on his way to win the 64th race in the Truck Series when a yellow flag, bought out by an accident on the track, followed by a red flag, because of the rain at Martinsville, went on to solidify the fears of a rain-shortened race. The race was over at lap 124 and Rowdy was 2nd.
The young Corey Heim won the race with 85 laps, and as you’d expect, Busch was frustrated.
He thought the race could’ve gone on.

Kyle Busch claims “might as well stop trying” in Truck Series
Speaking in an interview after the race, as he walked to his KBM hauler while it rained, Busch opened up on the thing that “killed” their race. He claimed they were hoping for a long run that never came.
“We did set up our truck for a long run you know and we never got that. The longest run of the race we got was on the wet,” he said. “Nothing’s gone our way strategy-wise this year so we might as well stop trying.”
When asked how the run in the rain was, Busch corrected the interviewer as he said, “Don’t call it rain, it wasn’t rain, it was dry. It was raining but the track was a little bit wet and the tires were drying the rest of the track the rest of the way.”
“Right now, honestly this is a little bit of a rain maybe, depending on the spray, but we didn’t even give it a chance,” he added.
“Wasting our time.”
