Way back in the dog days of August 2022, Kyle Busch was still flying the flag for Joe Gibbs Racing. That’s when Mars, waving the M&M banner, started eyeing the door. You see, this left a real kerfuffle—a top-notch race team and their ace driver, Kyle Busch, out in the cold. And the sponsorship tiff turned out to be a big reason for Kyle to pack his bags with the team. But now, for those feeling blue and missing that splash of yellow on Kyle’s car since the last lap of 2022, here’s some good news to perk you up. M&M’s making a comeback, hitching a ride with Kyle Busch at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

Kyle Busch is set to steer the M&M-themed car once more

After a 15-year journey with Kyle Busch’s car and a whopping 32 years with Joe Gibbs Racing, 2022 saw a major shake-up with M&M deciding to hit the brakes on their partnership. Busch, having clinched the NASCAR Cup Series titles in 2015 and 2019 behind the wheel of his M&M’s adorned ride, didn’t let a bump in the road stop him. The grapevine, via Sports Business Journal, had it that Mars gave Joe Gibbs Racing a heads-up over the summer to scout for a new sponsor.

Fast forward, and the tables have turned big time. As per the latest updates, after a season with Richard Childress Racing, Kyle Busch is set to bring back M&M’s iconic yellow on his car, kicking off at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Though it’s still up in the air whether Morgan and Morgan will back more races this season apart from LA Coliseum and Las Vegas Motor Speedway race, the new design is rumored to be a real eye-catcher, complete with palm trees fitting right in with Busch’s style.

On the occasion, Kyle Busch’s representatives- Morgan and Morgan- took a slight dig at his previous sponsors who could not invest in him, saying, “There’s a new yellow M&M in town!”  Notably, Morgan and Morgan is not just sponsoring Kyle Busch, but Austin Dillon as well. Hence, it would be interesting to see the paint scheme of Dillon’s car as well.

On a day filled with media buzz, Kyle Busch was not sporting the 3CHI logo. Bob Pockrass’s tweet painted quite the story: “Kyle Busch anchor sponsor for this year in Cup will be nicotine pouch company ITG brand zone,” “No more 3Chi sponsorship for Busch,” and “*3Chi wasn’t on Kyle Busch’s uniform today but apparently door is still open for them to return.” Word on the street is that 3CHI might come back to Richard Childress Racing later in the year. It looks like they’ve hit a pause on supporting Busch—perhaps because of some new rules coming into play.

As the sponsorship winds seem to be changing, Kyle’s got to bring his A-game even more than he did in 2023, keeping his eyes on the prize and the lookout for new opportunities.

Apart from M&M hopping back on board for the LA Coliseum race, RCR has also unveiled a brand-new partnership with Rebel Bourbon. This means Busch’s #8 car will be sporting the Bourbon brand’s colors in several races, not just in 2024 but in 2025 too.
