It goes without saying that NASCAR is nothing without its fans. Imagine a race without the cheering and booing. Imagine a celebration without the roars of the fans. Would the drivers even get the thrill of racing then? Absolutely not. Both Tony Stewart and Danica Patrick aren’t alien to the influence of fans on the sport. That being said, a recent announcement concerning the duo didn’t bode well with the NASCAR fanbase.

In recent times, the relationship between fans and NASCAR hasn’t been at its best due to some issues with broadcasting. With the frequency of commercial breaks already a big concern for the fans, it has only become more challenging to telecast to their satisfaction. Things only got worse recently with an announcement.

Recently, Tony Stewart and Danica Patrick’s presence was confirmed in the broadcasting booth for NASCAR. While it confirmed Stewart for the races in Fontana and Atlanta, Danica was chosen for the races in Las Vegas and Phoenix. This triggered a negative response from fans around the globe.

With his experience as a successful driver, the former Joe Gibbs Racing driver might be able to enlighten the fans with a lot more insights. Though, only time will tell how entertaining it will be when Danica Patrick is in the booth.

Despite being one of the most popular names in NASCAR and a three-time Cup Series champion, Tony Stewart’s skills as an announcer are not as good. That, at least, was the general consensus on Twitter when the announcement was made. The Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner’s outspoken personality divides opinion more often than not. Here are a couple of interesting observations:
