The red carpet sets the mood. Stars from Cup, Xfinity, and Trucks mix with owners and friends. It’s light and warm, the perfect kickoff to a night of honors.

MPD and other awards

The Most Popular Driver (MPD) Award shines bright. Fans vote for their favorites in the Cup, Xfinity, and Craftsman Truck Series. Chase Elliott eyes his eighth straight Cup win. Justin Allgaier defends his Xfinity title. Rajah Caruth holds the Truck crown.

But the biggest shock addition in the Cup nominees was NASCAR’s anti-hero Denny Hamlin. He himself said, “Shocking. I don’t know that I’ve ever been in the top 10, so that in itself was quite a shock. I don’t know what’s changed, but certainly do appreciate it.”

The way his legacy has shaped this year, and the struggle he’s shown, along with the family and legal battles he’s fighting aside from racing, fans are loving him now.

Other awards celebrate the heart. Comcast Community Champion of the Year goes to Daniel Dye for his fan work. Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award finalists include John Grieshaber, Gregg Morton, Kate O’Neal, and Hannah Smith.

The NMPA Myers Brothers Award honors big contributions to stock car racing. It’s a night of thanks from track heroes to off-track helpers.

The awards wrap the year sweetly. Champions lift trophies, and fans cheer their favorites. Scottsdale’s glow keeps the spirit alive.

Why this year’s awards feel fresh

Scottsdale brings new air for the first time west of Charlotte. It shows NASCAR’s reach, pulling in fresh faces. The red carpet and honors mix old and new. Expect laughs, tears, and big thanks. Champions will share their stories, and the community stars will get their shine. It’s the perfect close to a wild season.
