Earlier this year, Alabama Racing legend, Red Farmer was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame alongside Dale Earnhardt Jr and Mike Stefanik. The 89-year-old rose to prominence as part of the Alabama Gang alongside Bobby Allison and Donnie Allison.

However, the racecar driver who won four championships during his career is currently admitted into a hospital after being diagnosed with a serious disease.

Farmer is battling double pneumonia and is hospitalized in Birmingham. And as you can imagine, the NASCAR community showed their support as they marched together and urged to pray for the racing legend so that he can get well.

Red Farmer hilariously revealed he had asked NASCAR for more time in his HoF speech

During the Hall of Fame ceremony, Red Farmer revealed, much to the audience’s amusement, how he had asked NASCAR for more time to express his gratitude to everyone considering the sheer length of his career.

They’re going to have to give me about half an hour. I told them, ‘Hey, I’ve got 75 years of bulls*** I’ve got to tell’. I can’t get up there and do it in five or six minutes. I’ve got too many people to thank, I’ve got too many great stories to tell,” he had said.

Red Farmer also emphasized on how once racing gets in someone’s blood, they can’t get it out. “I haven’t gotten it out of my blood in 75 years,” he added.

“I have had a great life and I wouldn’t trade anything for it.”

We pray for his quick recovery so that he can get back to doing what he loves doing, what he’s been doing for almost all his life, racing.
