Ahead of the next race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, NASCAR has set some new regulations. However, all these are in place for the fans, at least for the first two races. In this situation, circuit venues will restrict the number of guests in the stands during the races.

Meanwhile, Homestead-Miami Speedway is setting an attendance ceiling of 1,000 guests. This includes military members and families who live with them.

NASCAR Vice President Daryl Wolfe said, “There is an immense responsibility here that comes with this exercise. We want to be very methodical, very measured, and we want to be cautious as we go through this.”

As per the new regulations, fans have to follow social distancing and keep a distance of 6 feet between each other. Secondly, anyone who is 3 years old or older must wear a mask. There will also be staggered times for fan entry with screening, including a non-contact temperature check.

Fans are also permitted to carry clear bags, as well as pre-sealed and packaged food and beverages, including alcohol. In addition to that, any merchandise transactions must be cashless.

“The race day experience will be different,” Wolfe continued. “It’s just different times. Fans will have to adjust to that. We will have to adjust on how we’re addressing these issues for fans.”

“When you have hands going from one piece of personal belonging to the next, to the next, one cooler to the next, to the next, we think right now the proper approach — even though I understand what race fans are used to, but we’re all easing into this together — [is] we believe this is the best policy for at least our first two events.”

After 10 weeks of no racing, NASCAR is finally back with six Cup races at four different venues. Now, the American stock car racing series is heading to a fifth venue at Martinsville. For the first time, fans are allowed, but with the above restrictions.
