With the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 at Martinsville done and dusted, the drivers are going to head to the next NASCAR Cup Series race at the Richmond Raceway. The Richmond race is going to kick off this weekend on April 18. Last weekend’s race was full of excitement an drama, and Richmond will likely offer the same thing.

Admittedly, the Toyota Owners 400 will surely be an exciting race and Martin Truex Jr will be one of the favorites. This is largely because he won the last Toyota Owners 400 race in 2019, but did not make an appearance in 2020. Fans can catch the Richmond Cup race on Fox Sports at 3 PM. The race is also going to air on TSN1, TSN5 in Canada.

Aside from Truex Jr, the Busch brothers, Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick have won at the Richmond Raceway. However, Kyle Busch boasts of the most wins at the track. The #18 driver has amassed five wins, including four in a row from 2009 to 2012. This will definitely make him one of the favorites to win the Cup Series race at Richmond.

Of course, NASCAR has yet to publish the grid for the race weekend. However, one can be sure that Martinsville race winner, Martin Truex Jr will either snatch pole or be on the front row. The #19 driver is currently locked in a massive championship battle with teammate Denny Hamlin.

Admittedly, he has a couple of advantages, in the form of two NASCAR Cup Series wins. Hamlin, on the other hand, while being the championship leader at the moment, is yet to reach Victory Lane this year. Out of the eight races that have passed by, there have been seven different winners. It was only Truex Jr who managed to break the streak last weekend at Martinsville. Now, the veteran will have a chance to have another crack at a win, while others will try to stop him.
