Switching from the vast 2.66-mile-high banks of Talladega Superspeedway to this week’s Monster Mile at Dover Motor Speedway, which boasts a 1.03-mile concrete oval with 24° banks, is a big change of scenery. This shift is sure to challenge even the best drivers. They’ll be racking up miles in hopes of snagging the Miles the Monster trophy, given to the winner of the Cup event.

Moreover, last year’s winner, Martin Truex Jr, will be looking to defend his title, and he’s not the only one eyeing the prize. Like the close race at Bristol, where Truex narrowly missed first place and finished second behind Denny Hamlin, Dover is expected to deliver similar excitement, with anticipated tire wear becoming a critical factor about every 15–25 laps. The racing action spans from Friday through Sunday, with races scheduled each day. For those planning to follow along, you can find the complete weekend schedule below.

The NASCAR action kicks off this Friday, starting with the ARCA Menards Series. Practice will begin at 12:40 p.m., followed by qualifying at 1:40 p.m., although neither will be broadcast. The real excitement will start at 5 p.m. with the General Tire 150 race, which you can catch live on Fox Sports 2. It’s going to be a bit chilly at Dover Motor Speedway, with temperatures in the upper 50s.

Also on Friday, the Xfinity series revs up with the BetRivers200 at Dover. Practice is set for 3:00 p.m., and qualifying will follow at 3:30 p.m., all airing on Fox Sports 2. The main event is on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and you can watch it live on Fox Sports 1, or listen in on PRN Live or SiriusXM Radio. Saturday too is looking a bit cool, with temps ranging from 42 to 57 degrees and a chance of scattered showers in the afternoon.

The Cup Series will gear up with practice on Friday at 10:30 a.m. and qualifying at 11:20 a.m., both streaming live on Fox Sports 1. The main event, the Wurth 400, will drop the green flag at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tune into Fox Sports 1 for the live broadcast. The weather on race day at Dover Motor Speedway is expected to hit a high of 80°, quite a jump from Saturday, with only a slight chance of rain.

The 55th Annual Wurth 400 is revving up with 37 Cup entries this year. We’ve got Kaz Grala in #15, AJ Allmendinger in #16, Jimmie Johnson back in the saddle with his #84 car, and Eric Jones holding down #43. But there’s a bit of buzz around Eric Jones, as the Legacy Motor Club hasn’t said if he’ll race at Dover after his recent hospital visit due to a back issue from a crash at Talladega. If Eric can’t make it, Corey Heim will be stepping in as the reserve driver.

Further talking about the tickets, you may head over to https://www.dovermotorspeedway.com/events/ to pick up your pass for the Cup race or grab a multi-day ticket to soak in all the NASCAR action throughout the weekend and save some cash. In case you plan on watching all the races, it would also be your chance to see the 19-year-old driver from Richard Childress Racing, Jesse Love, gearing for another win.

Additionally, you can check out the sensory-friendly grandstand seating options available for Sunday’s Würth 400 NASCAR Cup Series race. Located next to Bally’s Dover Motor Speedway Casino Resort, these seats offer a quieter environment, perfect for families with little ones or anyone looking to enjoy the race without the roar. They provide a stellar view of the backstretch on the World’s Fastest One-Mile Oval. But, why catch the race live? What’s in store for you at the track?

First up, the Dover Motor Speedway track’s concrete surface may indicate a nail-biter one, similar to the Bristol race where tire strategy overshadowed aerodynamics. In fact, NASCAR even had to hand out an extra set of tires to each driver last time.

  • This weekend is also notable as Corey Heim makes his Cup Series debut, stepping in for Erik Jones at Legacy Motor Club after Jones took a nasty hit at Talladega that left him with a compression fracture in his vertebra. Heim, a hotshot in the Craftsman Truck Series and showing promise in the Xfinity Series, is moving up the ranks in Toyota’s development system by taking the wheel of the #43.
  • Then there’s the Ford camp, feeling the pressure with zero wins in 10 races. For Team Penske, whose drivers Austin Cindric, Ryan Blaney, and Joey Logano have all yet to win a Cup at this track, Dover’s 1-mile banked concrete track is a crucial battleground.

With the last six Dover Motor Speedway races crowning six different winners—Chevrolet grabbing three, Toyota two, and Ford one—it’ll be interesting to see who clinches it this time.

  • Additionally, Martin Truex Jr is a strong contender, boasting an impressive track record here with 19 top-10 finishes, 10 top-5s, and four wins from 33 starts, not to mention an average finish of 11.4 and leading 1,069 laps. He’s the reigning champ from last season’s Dover race.
  • Chase Elliott, fresh from a Cup race win, is also a top contender. With 13 starts at Dover Motor Speedway, he’s racked up nine top-10s, nine top-5s, and two wins, maintaining an average finish of 9.8. He triumphed in the first Next Gen race here.
  • Let’s not count out HMS teammate Kyle Larson either. From his 15 starts, he’s landed 11 top-10 finishes, seven top-5s, and a win, with an average finish of 8.6 and 899 laps led. Larson has been in the top 10 in four of the last five races here.
