He wrote on Twitter, “l’m humbled Maine District # 1 voted for me to represent them in the Legislature. The voters are frustrated with both parties and I hope to play a tiny part in reminding them it’s not about politics, ego or conspiracies, but government for the people. It’s time to move forward.”

How has the ex Dale Earnhardt Jr driver done in his NASCAR career?
Truthfully speaking, Theriault has not had a full-time season in either of the three series. It is also worth mentioning that he is 28 years old, so age definitely did not play a role in his retirement from racing. Of course, he still enjoyed a few wins in the ARCA Series, so Victory Lane was not a really foreign concept. When he raced for Dale Earnhardt Jr, he only competed in three races, with a best finish of 15th at Iowa.
I’m no fan of republicans, but I’m a big Austin Theriault fan. Congratulations AT, I hope you do great things.

I am a democrat, but based on stuff I’ve read regarding your campaign seeing you’re mostly a moderate Republican and how I’m a big fan of nascar, if I was old enough to vote for you and lived in Maine I would’ve voted for you, congrats Austin.

Nice. We need to disband technocracy, spendaholism, government interventionism, price controls, and entitlementism. Fight for this Austin.

Obviously, many people were thrilled at the news, and congratulated the former driver. Others confessed that though they leaned more towards the democratic side, they were happy for him. Some people also insisted that there are a lot of issues in America that needed fixing, and hope that Theriault is the man for the job. The fans also wished him luck for his tenure as a member of the Maine State House.

Happy for ya! Politics should be about working together not pointing fingers about who did what. You’ll do great!
