It seems like Mark Martin will never be able to let racing go completely. The NASCAR Hall of Famer is 63-years-old, but even at this age, with the amount of racing he has seen in his career behind him, he has agreed to be the crew chief in a Super Late Model race.

Martin will be the crew chief for Dye at Mission Valley Super Oval in Polson, Mont.
Speaking about his new role as the crew chief, the former NASCAR driver expressed his excitement and emphasized that they could be in for a win.
“I’m really excited about teaming up with Daniel Dye and Travis Sharpe for the Montana 200. I’ve had my eye on Daniel for a while, and believe we can be a contender for this prestigious event,” he said.

The driver for whom Martin will be the crew chief, Dye, was also quite buzzed with the fact that he’s getting to work with one of the all-time greats.
“It’s pretty special to have the chance to learn from and work with one of the greatest drivers of all time,” Dye said of Martin. “I know Travis Sharpe will bring us a fast car, and Mark will keep us dialed in.”

“Mission Valley Super Oval is a track I had not seen until now but it looks like a really fun place to race, and I can’t wait to get there.”
Mark Martin names the driver that reminds him of himself
In a recent interview, Mark Martin called Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Denny Hamlin, the driver that reminds him of himself, someone who is playing the role that he was playing as a driver back in his day.

“I enjoy the fact that Denny is playing the role that I was playing when he first broke on the scene, Denny was super fast right out of the gate. I mean, crazy fast,” Martin said.

“He’s a really outspoken person, got a heck of a personality,” he continued.
“I just think he’s fantastic for the sport.”
