On Sunday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, some eagle-eyed viewers at home spotted something unusual. During the broadcast, TV viewers spotted a mysterious miniature explosion by the side of the track. This occurred during one of the many cautions during the NASCAR race. Fortunately, there was no reason to be alarmed, because the explosion had a perfectly valid explanation.

That was planned? As in “let’s scare the he££ out of the drivers” planned?

According to Fox Sports’ Bob Pockrass, the explosion was part of a planned pyrotechnic show. So the good news was that there was nothing about a car exploding, but it was just for entertainment value. Though it is worth mentioning that some people questioned the kind of pyro effect used. Many felt that it was far too dramatic for their liking and looked a bit scary.
Scared me for a minute thought the same thing

Looked like someone’s grill blew up… one random explosion 💥 right before the green… weird!

Maybe it was fortunate that there were no sound effects. Otherwise, that would have been really scary for the fans.

Of course, there were a number of viewers who rather liked the ‘cool effect’. Of course, the jokes soon came flooding in, with one of them alluding to former NASCAR and F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya.
What else did the fans say about the explosion in the NASCAR race?
Some fans also cast their minds back to the start of the 2022 Formula One season. During the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix weekend, there was a missile threat hovering over the venue all weekend. In fact, an Aramco Distribution Station a few miles away from the track even caught fire. Nevertheless, the race weekend went ahead and wrapped up without a hitch.
I thought that was the second coolest shot of the night

Now, the NASCAR paddock will make landfall at the World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, Illinois. This particular track is uncharted territory for the drivers, as there has never been a Cup race held at this venue. Whoever wins there will go down in history as the first-ever Cup Series winner.
