NASCAR Rumor Quashed After Central Hendrick Motorsports Figure Announces Exit

Renowned NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass recently revealed that Austin Dillon’s crew chief will not stay with him for next year. Meanwhile, NASCAR fans have been speculating that the RCR crew chief might be headed for Hendrick Motorsports instead. 

The timing of Crew Chief, Justin Alexander’s announcement to leave the team, was considered to be a little weird by some people. Considering just last week the pairing of Alexander and Austin Dillon won the rain-filled chaotic race at Daytona.

Moreover, the playoffs are just a few days away and an announcement of this sort is surely going to play into their overall performance.

Announcing the crew chief’s decision, Bob Pockrass mentioned, Crew chief news: Justin Alexander tells me he won’t return as Austin Dillon’s crew chief next year. Alexander said it was his decision and he hasn’t made a decision on what he will do in 2023.

A fan then asked if he’d be headed to crew chief for Alex Bowman in the Hendrick Motorsports team. However, Pockrass was quick to shut down that rumor, stating, “Alexander told me that is not the plan.”

People had a highly mixed reaction to the news, some stating that there is no way that Alexander would not have a plan for the future, while others believed the work environment at RCR might not be up to par.

Fans speculated a Hendricks move for Justin Alexander, however, Pockrass did mention that the crew chief specifically stated that he had no plans for 2023 and beyond.
