NASCAR Spotter Takes Up the Case of the Unfair Contract Ross Chastain Has at Trackhouse Racing

Nobody would have taken you seriously had you predicted Ross Chastain being the best driver in 2022 (so far). But that’s how the reality is. The Trackhouse Racing man has two wins under his belt, he is already locked in the playoffs, and he’s looking consistently strong every weekend.

Suffice to say, Chastain is breaking the lines of expectations people had with him, and what he is delivering.

However, there’s one other thing that might not be in line with his results, something that could be a consequence of the expectations. And that thing is the money he is making, his contract.

This was something that NASCAR spotter Brett Griffin brought up recently, arguing how Chastain deserves a better, more rewarding contract with his team.

“Of all the guys in the Top 10, I hope Ross Chastain is on a one-year deal. Because he has to be the lowest-paid guy in the top tens in points right now. Two wins, locked into the playoff. This is a guy that can go have a life-changing contract, and he is underpaid based on how he is performing,” Griffin said.

“It is every single week. It doesn’t matter where we’re at. If it’s a road course, if it’s a short track, if it’s a mile-and-a-half, he’s up there.”

Ross Chastain doesn’t care if he races like a “b******e”

After the race in Dover in which Ross Chastain made some questionable moves on Martin Truex Jr, Brett Griffin spoke about his driving style in an episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast.

“If Ross races you like a b******e, he doesn’t care. I’ve spotted for Ross Chastain, I know what he is capable of doing. He is a super-talented, fast race car driver and these cars are obviously fitting his driving style like nobody else,” Griffin said,

“We talked to Corey LaJoie about it on the stage the other day. This is a good car, this is fitting Ross’ driving style and I wouldn’t want to be his teammate right now.”
