Even in his retirement, Dale Earnhardt Jr is opening the sport up to newer avenues. One such example of that is his media empire. His empire has enabled fans and even the professionals working inside NASCAR to look at and consider the sport and the people who run the sport, in a new light.
The big part of Dale Jr’s media umbrella is, of course, his show, the Dale Jr. Download. In the show, he sits down with guests and takes an unconventional but incredibly effective route to interview. But there’s also another show that has steadily but definitely grown into its own, a show that will surely be even bigger than what it is today, and certainly from what it was.

That show is the Door Bumper Clear, a weekly show in which NASCAR spotters sit down and candidly reflect on the current affairs in the sport as well as the recent races.

The show wouldn’t have been what it is if not for Dale Earnhardt Jr, something the spotters themselves recently revealed.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. visited DBC and turned the closet into a gigantic studio
In a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Brett Griffin described the big leaps their show has made ever since its inception, something that the DBC paint scheme made evident in the Xfinity Series race at Dover.
The spotter recalled how they started from a couch in a closet and, thanks to Dale Jr, and of course, a lot of hard work, they are where they are today.
“It’s funny that you know, we were kinda like punished when we were in there. And then Dale Jr. comes in and does one show and the next thing you know, there’s a gigantic studio over there,” TJ Majors said.

Griffin continued, “He’s like, ‘This is not appropriate. These guys deserve more than this.'” “He came on here. He said I gotta be a part of it,” Majors added.

“He even tweeted last week about Door Bumper Clear should be protected at all costs,” Griffin recalled.

So it’ll be interesting to see just how high Door Bumper Clear goes in the future.
The show has grown exponentially in the last few months, and if things continue like this, the spotter clan might even reach the heights at which the NASCAR Hall of Famer sits with his own show.
