The Chili Bowl Nationals is currently underway, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr is in fine form. The NASCAR driver had a mixed day in the office after a crash in his heat race. Later on, he clawed his way up the field and eventually made it to the A-main event by finishing 3rd.

Meanwhile, Justin Grant won the feature race ahead of Kyle Cummins and booked their spots in the A-main event. With that, the 3 of them join defending champion Kyle Larson, as well as 3-time champion Christopher Bell.

During the heat race, Stenhouse became an innocent victim of a massive crash and could only muster 7th. In the C-main event, he managed to climb up to 4th and advanced to the B-main.

Speaking about his race, Ricky Stenhouse Jr said, “I felt really good. Was really bummed that we didn’t get a chance in the heat race. We could have really come forward.

“After that, it was really about figuring out how we could claw our way back and not have to wake up so early. Every car you pass is probably 20 more minutes you get to sleep in.”

Nevertheless, Stenhouse Jr insisted that he had a lot of fun. At the end of the day, he warned that he will not be comfortable out on the track until he crosses the chequered flag.
