NASCAR Truck Series driver Chandler Smith and his Kyle Busch Motorsports teammate Christian Eckes made contact with each other that caused damage to Smith’s car during the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series races on Friday.

The race at the Dover International Speedway was an eventful one, with as many as five cautions coming out. The incident between Smith and Eckes also left the latter at the mercy of Smith’s wrath.

The incident occurred during Lap 88 of the 200-lap race. Chandler Smith and Christian Eckes were driving close to each other and made contact. The accident caused Smith to lose control and go for a spin towards the outside wall.

Smith then made contact with Sheldon Creed driving the No. 2 Chevrolet who hit the outside wall as he went by. Ben Rhodes in the No. 99 Ford also got caught up in the crash and spun. The contact with Creed took a piece off Smith’s car.

Unfortunate day for Chandler Smith

Eckes was in third place when the incident occurred, with Smith in fourth. Rhodes and Creed were just behind them in fifth and sixth places, respectively.

Smith led for almost 30 laps throughout the race. Eckes came in 11th and was leading the race at a point after a restart post the second stage. Rhodes shrugged off the incident to finish in 5th place, while Creed finished 22nd.

Smith’s frustration was clear as he shouted on the team radio, saying, “Why is our teammate making so many ******* (expletives) decisions all day.”

Chandler Smith was involved in an accident at the Michigan International Speedway as well, just two weeks ago. He had started the race in pole position but finished in 38th place after a mid-race incident.
