Hyping up the 2024 season and upping the ante is Sam Hunt Racing. The Xfinity Series team based in Mooresville, North Carolina, went over to support their larger-than-life partner, the Lehigh Valley Phantom, the Pennsylvania-based professional ice hockey team that has a solid presence in the American Hockey League.

With the 2024 season about to commence, the Xfinity Series team has made a grand entrance. In fact, the proud Toyota-partnered team made history by rolling onto the ice to show their open support for their partner and sponsor, the LV Phantoms, becoming the first-ever Xfinity Series crew to make a stop on ice.

Officially formed in 2019 when it debuted in Homestead, Miami, for the 2019 Ford Eco Boost 300, Sam Hunt Racing has sort of made a name for itself. The two-car team fields the Truck Series sensation, Corey Heim, on a part-time basis and fields drivers like Jeffrey Earnhardt and Kaz Grala in its Toyota Supra. Since its Xfinity Series debut almost five years ago, the team has managed to compete in 169 races, while a win is still the team’s long-term goal.

This time around, the proud Toyota-associated team has made history by being the first-ever Xfinity Series team to feature its crew, pitting on ice to have a quick four-tire change. The team’s promotional effort certainly did more as the crowd closely watched the pit crew swap all four tires and refuel the car swiftly in under 15 seconds.

The #26 Toyota Supra adorned in the orange-black livery was in fine tune with its partner, the LV Phantoms’ shade, as the crew did a live pit stop on ice as a show of support for their partner.

Beyond the highly anticipated season opener at Coliseum, fans are already looking past it and already stoked for the “Great American Race” at the 2.5-mile speedway in Daytona, Florida. With 2024 starting a new chapter for Sam Hunt Racing, the team has a new sponsor for the race and has roped in a new driver for the same.

The organization announced on Tuesday that Sage Karam, a nine-time starter in the Indianapolis 500, will run a partial schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The 28-year-old, who had a stellar debut with the team last year at Road America, finishing in a career-best fourth position, will once again look to best his finish and carry on the momentum further into 2024 with multiple races scheduled for him. CRC Brakleen will serve as the primary marketing partner for Karam in the February 17 event.

Reflecting on his venture, Sage Karam said, “I am very grateful and excited to be teaming back up with Sam Hunt Racing and CRC this year to be able to build on the success that we found last year at Road America. Both SHR and CRC are two companies that are very close to my heart, and I am honored that they have given me another shot to showcase the great things we can accomplish in 2024.”
