Some folks might play pretend for the camera, but Kenny Wallace? Not even remotely. Best known for his flamboyant personality, the nine-time Xfinity race winner has been a lot more than just a driver. He is a television staple, an incredible garage-area storyteller, and one of NASCAR’s most colorful voices. Wallace took off both on and off the track, nearly 900 starts across its top three series, and a broadcasting career that brought energy to the booth. But in recent times, it’s not Wallace’s stats, or even legacy, that are drawing the headlines. It’s his colorful choice of words

With an expletive-strewn tirade that scorched its way across social media, Wallace leveled bullets not at competitors or officials, but at an entire fanbase that once chanted his name. The sharp words directed at critics of NASCAR race attendance have revived an old argument in the sport between an increasingly strident call for polish and political correctness versus unfiltered authenticity.

Kenny Wallace unleashed on X

Kenny Wallace’s outburst was centered around the latest NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The track known as ‘The Last Great Colosseum’ was host to Kyle Larson’s dominant display as he led 411 laps en route to the checkered flag. While many fans were upset at the one-sided nature of the race, some took issue with grandstands not being packed, and Kenny Wallace didn’t mince his words when retorting to them on X.

Bristol has a capacity of 155,000, which is way more than the average NASCAR track, which is around 40-50,000. Taking this into account, Wallace wrote on X, Y’all need to take a massive f—— break from b—– and moaning about a NASCAR race. Ain’t nobody worried about that bull—-. The f—– place fits 155,000 people. You dumba—- never stop.” A scathing reply to fans dissing the track. Wallace was not shy to repeat these words verbatim during a livestream on Frontstretch’s Happy Hour.

Wallace, however, was unaware that he was live! “The place fits 155,00 people and they’re like ‘Bristol’s empty’. I’m like, ‘Shut up.'” Co-hosts of the podcast, Dalton Hopkins, while laughing at the retelling of Wallace’s expletive -laden rant on X, jokingly said, “Rest in peace to whoever is editing this video,” and Wallace replied, I’ve had my a– chewed out my whole life for cussing, and I’m like ‘go f— yourself,’ to an eruption of laughter. “Beep it out,” said Wallace to the hosts of the show, and then he was hit with the realization that they were livestreaming! “No!” said Wallace with a look of shock on his face. This prompted co-host Michael Massie to ask him, “I just want to know, how did you make it on FOX and SPEED all those years without being able to say those words?”

Kenny Wallace was a recurring feature on FOX’s broadcast, working for three years from 2015 to 2018. Wallace once said about his time at FOX, “I guess I was just made for TV. My boss at FOX Sports said they hired me because I had a lot to say.” Well, while fans know he had a lot to say, they always wondered how he kept it cuss-free, to which Kenny told the guys at Frontstretch, “I get that question all the time. They say, Wallace, how do you stay on TV with all that cussing you do, boy? You got a potty mouth.” Wallace’s answer was to the point. “It’s simple. You can’t! I’m comfortable around you buys so I can say what I want to say.”

At the end of the day, Wallace knows where to draw the line between openly cussing and knowing he’s on a national broadcast. The veteran never shies away from his hilarious cuss-filled rants on his show ‘Coffee with Kenny’ where he breaks down the happenings in the NASCAR world with that patented style of humor that his fans love.

And it’s not like Wallace just cusses for the sake of it (maybe occasionally), but mostly, he is talking about issues in the sport with his colorful language adding a fiery tone. His rant about Bristol emphasized how NASCAR fans tend to look at things mostly in black and white, as a colosseum with a soaring capacity is not expected to fill out the grandstands for every race.
