At this point on how NASCAR makes decisions against other drivers, one would argue that the organizing committee might have a bias for Hendrick Motorsport above any other team. This came after Chase Briscoe and his crew chief purposefully manipulated the outcome of the race and NASCAR promptly handed him a penalty for doing so. Moreover, the statement coming from the Vice President of NASCAR did not help the narrative much either.

In a series of tweets, Crandall stated, Scott Miller says brake, steering, and audio transmission from 41 car led NASCAR to react. Among them was Mike Shiplett telling Cole Custer to “check-up” because he might have a flat tire but Shiplett couldn’t see the car.

“Miller says Chase Briscoe would have advanced without Custer’s move, which is why they aren’t changing the playoff grid.”

“In comparing to past situations of drivers blocking someone else (Chase Elliott at Bristol on Harvick), Miller says no one told Elliot to do that, it was a driver’s reaction. Miller did call it sketchy. In this case, Custer “blatantly” pulled over to change the finishing order.”

Fans took to social media after NASCAR’s statement on the Cole Custer incident. They then called out NASCAR for their inherent bias toward the Hendrick Motorsport outfit and Chase Elliott.
