Following EssentiallySports’ exclusive interview with popular YouTuber, Brian Harmon, the aircraft fanatic and aviation geek has dropped his verdict on who has the best aviation game in NASCAR. Surprisingly, it is none of the stock car racing promotions’ drivers or celebrities but the legendary NBA star and proud NASCAR team owner, Michael Jordan.

While the 60-year-old is known for his god-like stature in the NBA fandom, flying through the air to dunk the ball regardless of the opposition, his ruthless mindset in the business world has also earned him quite a fearsome reputation. Much like his Air Jordan line of apparel wherein he etched the logo, symbolized because of his iconic aerial split, the billionaire businessman is also a proud owner of a Gulfstream G-IV aircraft that is widely known for its custom design and decals.

Jordan, often touted as the greatest NBA player of all time, is also the richest of all time. He is estimated to be worth around 1.8 billion dollars besides his Nike deal that gets him millions each year in revenue. In fact, other than the super athlete’s legendary status in the sporting world, his flamboyant lifestyle and lavish spending have the veteran in the headlines too often.

While his affluent company and his exclusive golf club (Grove XXII) with less than 80 high-value celebrities recently made the news, Jordan has yet again made the headlines. This time it was because of his $61 million worth Gulfstream G-IV in a special livery that adorns his Air Jordan business. When asked which athlete has the most impressive or unique private jet, the popular YouTuber and plane spotting expert, Brian Harmon picked Jordan over the NASCAR celebrities.

Even though his massive money deals have got him on the pedestal, for Brian Harmon, it was the 60-year-old’s specially-themed aircraft that stood apart. After all, not everybody has a Gulfstream G-IV aircraft, and above all, no one has it adorned with the Air Jordan decals of Nike. The 88-foot aircraft was originally themed a powder blue and white wrap in honor of Jordan’s former college in North Carolina but underwent a cosmetic upgrade in 2017, redesigning it in tribute to his iconic theme.

For Harmon when asked about his pick, naming Jordan and mentioning his prized possession was a no-brainer. During our exclusive one-on-one session with the YouTuber, he was asked, “In your experience, have you come across any Athlete with an especially impressive or unique private jet?” To which he without any second thoughts said, “Michael Jordan’s jet stands out as being impressive and unique. Not just because of the sheer size of it but the paint scheme is one of the most unique I’ve seen especially on the NASCAR circuit.”

Yachts and jets have always been a statement for celebrities. Their busy schedules and affluent lifestyles certainly demand one. Things aren’t much different in the NASCAR world either. Drivers like the HMS sensation and 2020 Cup Series champion, Chase Elliott are known for their love of flying. The driver has an aviation license that he earned back in 2015 and has been seen flying down to tracks.

Next is two-time Cup Series champion and NASCAR’s “Rowdy” Kyle Busch who previously owned a private jet but sold it later. The YouTuber Brian Harmon shortly after naming Jordan’s possession as the pièce de résistance then mentioned Elliott’s and Busch’s aircrafts. He said, “Chase Elliott’s Cessna is sleek looking with the all-black livery. Kyle Busch had a really great Citation Latitude that had a neat paint scheme too but he sold it recently. His livery even though it wasn’t crazy just definitely had a “fast” look to it.”
