In the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, poor old Bubba Wallace has found his nemesis. To be precise, the #23 driver has fallen victim to numerous pit stop issues and they are really hurting him. Some critics would simply look at his final results and conclude that he does not cut the mustard. However, a recent graphic from NBC Sports has shed light on many things, compiling a list of all his pit lane woes in the 2022 season.

First and foremost, the driver fell afoul of an equipment penalty at the Auto Club Speedway in California. As a result of that, he dropped down the pack and could only muster 19th. Later on at the Circuit of the Americas, he lost a wheel and ended up nearly dead last. At Martinsville, it was the team who let him down when they cleared the wall too early. Owing to that, he copped another penalty to finish 16th.

Which other penalties did Bubba Wallace accrue in the current season?

It was particularly cruel when a loose wheel hobbled him at the Talladega Superspeedway. As a result, he ended a disappointing race on home soil, down in 17th place. At the Kansas Speedway, Bubba Wallace incurred two pit-lane penalties but somehow managed to recover to finish in 10th place. During the All-Star race at the Texas Motor Speedway, two loose wheels resulted in penalties and he dropped to 16th place. Finally, at the Nashville Superspeedway, he had a loose wheel and reported having contact with Tyler Reddick.

Having seen all of this, it is not difficult to sympathize with the 23XI Racing driver. He has certainly gone through a lot in his Cup Series campaign this year and has been very unlucky. Now, the next race of the season at Road America will hopefully offer him a shot at redemption. Even if he does not win there and join teammate Kurt Busch, there are still more races left before the Playoffs.
