As the Tom Brady-Giselle Bundchen divorce saga plays out, the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs enter the final stage. In the buildup to the NASCAR Cup race at Martinsville, Hendrick Motorsports driver and championship hopeful William Byron played some football. While playing catch, he answered a few questions about NASCAR and football. Among them, he briefly touched upon the NFL players who could perform well as NASCAR drivers.

He said, “You know, some of the quarterbacks who think really quickly. I think those are the guys that would do well.” Byron also revealed that when he was in school, he was on the football team. However, he had to soon stop because his growth spurt had stopped by then.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver is looking forward to Martinsville

Byron will undoubtedly be eager to go racing this weekend at Martinsville. This is a crucial race for the Hendrick Motorsports driver because he is in contention for the Championship 4. Already, Joey Logano has booked his seat, so he can sit back and watch the fun unfold. There are just three seats left and seven drivers, including Byron, vying for them. If any of those seven can win at Martinsville, it automatically seals their berth. The other two qualifiers will have to outscore their rivals in terms of points.

Unfortunately, William Byron has his work cut out for this race. As it happened, he will be starting all the way down in 25th place. Considering that this is a short track, the #24 driver will have to work hard to claw his way up the order. His path will not be easy, especially with many of his rivals ahead of him, vying for Championship 4 spots. At the moment, the ones in the best position are Chase Elliott, Chase Briscoe, and Ryan Blaney. This is because they start, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively, behind pole-sitter Kyle Larson.
