NASCAR released the following portion of its updated 2020 timetable last week. This will highlight six Cup Series races over a four-week term to complete the regular season. Now reports claim that the Daytona International Speedway Road Course Races on August 16 and the Oval races after that won’t hold any practice sessions.

After the completion of the regular season, NASCAR will move towards the Playoffs season. The Cup Series starts the long stretch of August at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Following this, they will move to the Michigan International Speedway August 8-9 for the first of two doubleheaders in August.

The two Michigan races will be trailed by a race at the Daytona International Speedway RC on August 16. It replaces NASCAR’s yearly outing to Watkins Glen International in New York.

The Watkins Glen’s race was wiped out because of the “New York State Health & Safety Regulations.” The circuit in New York has been a regular of the schedule for more than 30 years.

It has now been supplanted by an extra race at Daytona International Speedway Road Course.

No Practice for the upcoming NASCAR races

The forthcoming NASCAR races will all be run without practices or qualifying. It is in accordance with the plans released by the authorizing body.

This is done in order to reduce exposure for on-site team members in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19.

This is a precautionary measure that has been observed ever since racing resumed after the Coronavirus break. The qualifying session that was held before the Coca-Cola 600 is the sole exception to this new arrangement.

Several Drivers have spoken on this issue. The drivers feel they need the practice sessions before the race. One of them is the 2-time Cup Series Champion, Kyle Busch.

Busch hasn’t won any race after the last race of 2019 where he clinched his second Cup Series Championship.

In an interview with Beyond The Flag, he said, “I know what I’m capable of and what Adam [Stevens] and our team can do. It’s certainly been frustrating and wish we had just a little bit of practice to be able to work out some of the things.
