Noah Gragson Promises To “Take Care” of NASCAR Public Enemy No. 1 Ty Gibbs’ “Cheap Shot”

NASCAR has just concluded the 14th round of the Xfinity Series. The Portland International Raceway saw AJ Allmendinger come out as the winner, whereas it wasn’t a race to remember for Noah Gragson. Noah had a rather disappointing end to his race, credit to Ty Gibbs and his push.

The Jr Motorsports driver qualified in 11th position. Despite starting from the middle, Noah managed to climb up to the top and stay ahead of Ty in stage 2. Gibbs, on the other hand, started from 6th position and had already taken the stage 1 win. As stage 2 started, Noah was leading Ty.

Soon after the start, Gibbs pushed Gragson out of the race. Despite being a small nudge, it was enough to dethrone Noah of his lead, as the track was too slippery to have proper traction.

The Rick Hendrick driver opened up about his hit with Ty Gibbs after the race. Noah stated, “I’ll take care of that. I mean we’re racing and I got the lead, cheap shot us but we’ll keep that at the back of our mind and try to go to Nashville when that race. You’ll know when I get him back though.”

How Portland race summed up for Noah Gragson?

Noah qualified in 11th place after raking up 76.696 as his lap time as he failed to make it to the top 10. The 23-year-old driver ended his stage 1 race in 7th place. After the push by Gibbs, Gragson was out of the top 10 in stage 2. In the end, Ty finished in 7th place as compared to Noah’s 9th.

When asked about the track, Noah conveyed that he didn’t like it much. Gragson asserted on this, “Honestly not very impressed with this place to say the least. You know it’s pretty challenging to come out here for the teams to afford to come all the way across the country, and then on top of it, the way it’s designed, everybody just tears his top up and it costs everybody a ton of money.”

Noah Gragson is currently in the third position in the driver’s championship with 529 points. Interestingly, Noah is just a point behind Ty Gibbs who’s in second place with 530 points. The Portland race winner AJ Allmendinger remains at the top with 573 points altogether.
