Of all the young drivers racing in the second and third tier of NASCAR, perhaps Hailie Deegan is the one who is not only the most well-known, but also the one with whom the highest expectations are tied with. Yet despite that, the Truck Series driver hasn’t really had her ‘moment’ yet.

Deegan still remains winless and most of her current campaign is littered with poor finishes and unfortunate instances on the racetrack.

So it’s no wonder that NASCAR fans didn’t really appreciate the report that’s beginning to emerge about the next step up in her career. The step up that would see her make her debut in the Xfinity Series this year itself.

Although on which track she’d be making her career’s first Xfinity Series start is still something that isn’t clear.

Hailie Deegan has a suggestion for NASCAR regarding the Cup Series

In a series of tweets earlier this year, Hailie Deegan very candidly criticized and advised NASCAR to shorten the duration of some of the races in the Cup Series.

The Truck Series driver made a point that younger fans don’t have that big of an attention spectrum for most of the races, which can stretch up to 3-4 hours long at times.

“Think about it,” Deegan wrote. “As a driver your not gonna sit and ride for half the race if the length is shorter. Nothing happens during most cup races till the last stage for that reason. Also if you want younger fans to take an interest, you have to keep in mind their attention span is shorter.”

“Also in my opinion a lot of people don’t have 4 hours 36x a year to spend watching a race on tv,” she added.
