Rolex and Daytona are two words that are synonymous with each other in many respects. Both represent class, perfection, and greatness. When you combine them both, you get Rolex Daytona, the wristwatch, and Rolex (24) Daytona, one of the most difficult and revered races on the calendar. And Helio Castroneves has both of those combinations, in a combination.

The Brazilian recently won the 2022 edition of the Rolex 24. This was his second Daytona win in as many years, and as a result, he now has two Rolex Daytona watches that are awarded to the winners of that race.

And if someone forgot how many of these special and iconic watches he has, Castroneves reminded them recently. The 46-year-old posted a photo on his Instagram account next to both of his watches.

“Welcome to the family,” he wrote.

Naturally, his fans reacted to his new addition to his special watch collection.

One fan wrote, “You can always send me one Helio. Lol.” While another wrote, “Now we know, why there are no Daytonas available at Rolex AD.”

“Hey, since you’ve got two can I have one? Worth a try lol,” read one comment. “One for each arm,” wrote another.

What’s next for Helio Castroneves?

Currently on the top of the world after his two successive Rolex 24 wins and his record-equaling fourth INDY500 win, all in less than a year, Castroneves has his eyes set on some of the biggest races there are.

First, there is NASCAR’s Daytona 500, about which the IndyCar driver said he’d “love to” take part. He described how racing in Daytona 500 is something he wants to check off of his bucket list.

Then there’s the 24 hrs of Le Mans. “Being at Le Mans, we almost did it, almost got it, but unfortunately with the clash of schedules wasn’t able to do it,” he said.

Castroneves also mentioned how he has his eyes set on the record-breaking fifth INDY500 win in 2022 as well.

At 46-years-old, one wonders how many years Helio Castroneves has left in his racing career. But then again, he has defied his age in the last one year only, and looking ahead, he himself believes that his age is not a problem.
