The holiday season is upon us and Hendrick Motorsports has just made it that much more special. Rick Hendrick’s organization is one of the greatest in the history of NASCAR with a whopping 14 Cup Series championships. For die-hard HMS fans, perhaps there wouldn’t be a better present than a 40th Anniversary 10-car die-cast set which is being sold for a very reasonable price of $109.95.

Hendrick Motorsports history dates back almost 40 years. The team was founded in 1984 and they will be in their fifth decade starting next year. In all this time, HMS has had some of the greatest drivers of all time including Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, and Dale Earnhardt Jr to name a few. Their legacies have been honored in their latest 10-car die-cast set, which is to die for.

As per the HMS website, Lionel Motorsports is the company responsible for making these 1:64 models of some of the greatest cars with a modern twist. The paintwork of these miniature cars will be of the team’s legends but done on the model of the Next-Gen car, which runs in NASCAR today. A perfect blend of tradition and modernity is sure to draw a lot of fans to this product.

Several drivers are being commemorated through the 10-car die-cast set with a special surprise. “Beginning with the car that started it all – Geoff Bodine’s No. 5 Chevy from 1984 – Lionel has captured the liveries of Tim Richmond’s No. 25, Ken Schrader’s No. 25; Mark Martin’s No. 5; Darrell Waltrip’s No. 17; Terry Labonte’s No. 5; Jeff Gordon’s No. 24; Jimmie Johnson’s No. 48; and Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 88. The 10th car in the set features a specially designed 40th-anniversary paint scheme,” the release on the Hendrick Motorsports website read.

Each car will have the official Hendrick Motorsports 40th Anniversary logo on the hood. The driver’s name appears above the window, and the years 1984–2024 are printed on the windshield banner, adding even more detail to each. The realistic details include hand-placed decals, a window net, and rolling Goodyear tires.

The product will also come in a special Hendrick Motorsports 40th Anniversary collector box. The item is available to pre-order currently and is expected to ship around September next year. However, this is not the only product HMS has released to celebrate its fourth decade.

One take at a time

Drivers these days need to be more like Denny Hamlin and Bubba Wallace. Well, now you know who my favorites are. For me, it all began with my interest in F1, but I was just tired of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen showing unparalleled dominance.
