The multi-faceted versatile man, Tony Stewart, owns his very own NHRA Drag Racing Series team. In 2021, the four-time Cup Series champion signed the three-time NHRA Camping World Series champion Matt Hagan after the latter campaigned for a Funny Car for one of former Drag Racing’s pioneering drivers, Don Schumacher, for 12 long years!

Hagan was recently seen to be a guest at a very fun event hosted by his team Tony Stewart Racing Nitro. The current Funny Car championship leader was the star of the evening, including several dignitaries. Even a certain millionaire owner was present at the event who gladly watched Hagan grace the event with his presence.

Tony Stewart has been continuously seizing the racing scenes as both a seasoned driver as well as a businessman. With his convincing performance at his very own Eldora Speedway, at the same time, his team has been impressive in the NHRA Drag Racing championship. Matt Hagan is leading the Funny Car championship, whereas Stewart’s significant other Leah Pruett holds the fifth position in the Top Fuel category.

Recently, Stewart’s team hosted an event comprising dignitaries like John Force, Matt Hagan, and Alex Laughlin. Hagan can be seen given a warm welcome from the 16-time Funny Car champion John Force, as evident in a story posted on the Tony Stewart Racing Nitro Instagram account.

In the video, as soon as Force watches Hagan walking toward the store, he yelled, “Oh My God, there he is, that’s Matt Hagan. Let’s cheer for that!”

While the event comprised a lot of fun activities and games, it ended with the streaming of the SRX Racing Series where their team boss, Tony Stewart brought home a victory after a long time.

In 2021, Tony Stewart signed the three-time champion believing that they could build a championship-winning car. Despite winning a championship in 2020 with Don Schumacher Racing, Hagan was unhappy with their performance in 2021, prompting him to shift gears for Stewart’s team.

Hagan prefers Tony Stewart over Don Schumacher. Here’s why.

Even though Hagan failed to win the championship at the final step in the 2021 season, this year Hagan looks even more dominating than the season before and it looks like the 40-year-old is hungry for his fourth championship.

Hagan feels at home with Stewart and ranks him above his previous team. At the beginning of the season, he claimed that at Don Schumacher Racing, his team was provided with the parts to build a car to win races and championships. However, Stewart being a driver himself is more involved in the process.

In an interview, while talking about Stewart, Hagan said, “He’ll tell you like, ‘Hey, man. You know, put your neck on the ground. Let’s get up on the tire. Get up on the wheel and let’s drive this thing.”

Stewart is an integral part of the racing all over the states. Through his teams and initiatives, he is creating a platform for budding racing drivers. Now, with Hagan’s approval of Stewart’s form and style, it is a certainty that his legacy will outlive him.
