“One Race a Year is Plenty for Me”: Dale Jr Talks About His NASCAR Xfinity Race

Last night, NASCAR legend Dale Jr made a much-awaited NASCAR return in the Xfinity Series race. Dale put on a stellar show to finish the race in ‘top-5’.

Post his retirement in 2017, Earnhardt only raced once a year in NASCAR Xfinity. And he finished in the ‘Top Five’ in all three outings. After the race, Dale was talking to the media, he revealed that he’s unsure if he should still be racing. And how long he can continue his ‘one race a year’ plan.

Additionally, he said that he wants to focus more on his media career. And there’s a chance that the race at Homestead will be his last race.

Fox NASCAR’s Bob Pockrass posted a clip of his interview on Twitter. In the interview, Dale said, “I really enjoy it, I really do. But I think there’s got to be a point to where I decide to make the change to broadcasting entirely.”

He added, “I don’t know how many more of these I’ll do, this might be the last one”

Dale Jr. took his 70th career NASCAR Xfinity top 5 finish

After the race, Dale Jr talked to the media. He revealed that he was very nervous about the Homestead race. As he made his annual racing comeback with no practice.

Yesterday, Dale started the Hooters 250 race at Homestead in the 12th spot. And quickly started working his way up through the grid. After that, for much of the race, he was battling for the lead. During the race, His teammate Noah Gragson even complained about Dale pushing him too hard in the race.

Additionally, last night’s ‘Top-5’ finish marked his 70th ‘Top Five’ finish of his career in the Xfinity Series. He made his Xfinity debut in 1998 and was racing full-time till 2017.
