In a very interesting development, NASCAR Xfinity Series franchise Our Motorsports has announced it will race two cars in the division from 2021 onwards. And joining Brett Moffitt for the season opener will be Cup Series driver Tyler Reddick.

Reddick is still due to race full-time in the Cup Series for Richard Childress Racing. But he will also take part in the Xfinity Series’ opening race at the Daytona International Speedway.

This is, however, big news for Our Motorsports as they look to stamp their influence in the racing division. With better resources and key personnel retained, the idea for the team would be to make the playoffs once again and continue to grow in reputation.

Our Motorsports are looking to be permanent in NASCAR Xfinity Series

Team owner Chris Our stated, “We want to build on the momentum that Brett and the Our Motorsports crew provided us in 2020. We’ve moved in a larger shop and are putting the people and equipment in place to be a fixture in the series for years to come.”

Tyler needs no introduction to the Xfinity Series, winning the trophy consecutively in 2018 and 2019. He achieved the feat with two different teams, once each with JR Motorsports and Richard Childress Racing. Regardless, he is himself raring to go with Our Motorsports for the new season.

Reddick also said, “I’m very thankful to Our Motorsports for the opportunity and am looking forward to partnering with Brett to get the season off to a solid start.”

The full line-up for the second car entry yet to be decided

While Reddick will not be available for the whole season, Santino Ferrucci could take up the duties of driving the second car. As it stands though, it remains to be seen which drivers Our Motorsports could hire for the 2021 season.

But the team’s playoffs hopes will rest on their No.2, Brett Moffitt. He drove only part-time in Xfinity in 2020. The 28-year-old raced in the Truck Series, and also came incredibly close to winning the title in that division.

That said, the team will need Moffitt up and running when the new season comes around in 2021. And Our Motorsports could hope for better things, as they head into next year with determination and optimism.
