For a long time, Kenny Wallace has been entertaining and informing the audience with regular social media posts. But this Thursday, he decided to do something else and go back to his roots. It’s been a long time since Wallace drove a race car. His last appearance in any NASCAR series was back in 2015, when he made part-time starts in the O’Reilly series. Today, he has decided to pursue another dream for a day, on a track he called the “scariest” of his life.

Kenny Wallace visits his dream track for one day

“Making my dream come true. $2500.00 for 6 laps in a race car around.” Kenny Wallace posted the following on his social media today. He was standing right outside the Nürburgring racetrack, and with him was his receipt of $2500 for his stipulated six laps.

Wallace had a rather interesting conversation with his instructor, who was going to accompany him during the 6 laps around the track. The instructor did not know Wallace, nor was he too familiar with NASCAR. He also did not seem interested in Formula 1 as such. The entire conversation was labeled as “big controversy.”

But once Wallace had a taste of the Green Hell, we could easily understand why his instructor seemed nonchalant about the popular sport. After completing his first lap, Wallace couldn’t hold back his emotions. He made a bold claim about the NASCAR tracks.

“You think Darlington is the track that’s too tough to tame? This has to be the scariest racetrack I’ve ever been on in my life. And here’s why. It’s very narrow. The whole racetrack is like a hallway.”

The Nurburgring is one of the most legendary motorsports avenues in the entire world. Known as the Green Hell, it is a challenging racetrack with a narrow tarmac and exhilarating elevation changes, challenging drivers at every corner. Wallace did not reveal which race car he was going to drive, but the speculation around the same can become pretty wild.

As a track, Nurburgring has always been a surprising experience. The track rules do not enforce any specific vehicle class. Any vehicle is allowed to enter and race laps around the ‘green hell.’ In fact, drivers and enthusiasts often bring unique cars and even buses to race around the track.

For now, Wallace seems to be the first driver from NASCAR to drive laps around the Nurburgring. Earlier, however, there was a certain driver who tried to drive a ‘NASCAR’ around the Nurburgring race track. Back in 2018, a YouTuber named BridgeToGantry posted a video labeled ‘Driving a NASCAR around Nürburgring.’

However, it was slightly mislabeled, as he was not exactly driving a NASCAR. Rather, he was driving a late-model stock car from the earlier generations, which shares some characteristics with a NASCAR.

It had a high-revving V8 engine that produced nearly 300 HP on a live rear axle and four-speed Jericho transmission. Nevertheless, the video was a fun experience for the audience, who might want to compare how a NASCAR or a stock car might behave at a legacy track like the Nürburgring.

And there’s no doubt that the viewers are excited about it. As visible in the comment section of Kenny Wallace’s post, they can’t wait to know all about it.

Fans cheer Kenny Wallace en route to Nürburgring

As soon as the audience came to know that Wallace was heading to Nurburgring for his dream track day, they could not contain their excitement about the same. “That’s awesome, Kenny! Post up some times when you’re done!”

Another fan echoed the same, “Can’t wait for the recap and video!! Let’s go, Kenny!!”

Naturally, when a veteran from a sport goes to another country and tries a wildly different sport or a race track, the fans are eager to know and compare it. Wallace has not released a video of himself driving his car, but he has already posted an introduction with his instructor.

Nevertheless, the Nurburgring is a track with a lot of traffic, so it might not be possible to go for a flying lap if Kenny Wallace decides to do so.

Meanwhile, other users also chimed in to express their views about the racetrack. “Holy s***, that’s awesome; it’s absolutely my favorite track on Gran Turismo seven.” Some users are also talking about their personal experiences. “I did that last year. It was awesome!” A user posted in his comments with a picture of him driving a Mini Cooper JCW hatchback.

Nevertheless, Wallace’s sudden announcement proves something. Motorsports is an emotion. Even at a track that has no relation whatsoever to NASCAR, the drivers themselves can’t help but feel elated about it. We hope Wallace enjoys his time at the track and posts his times so that we can watch his flying laps.
