Angry run-in with Greg Biffle at Bristol

When thinking of Harvick’s most hotheaded moments, one cannot look further than his famous run-in with Greg Biffle at Bristol in 2002. The then 26-year-old was wrecked by Biffle in the final few moments of the race. He waited for Biffle on the pit road as the race finished.

Harvick then leaped over the barriers and right up to Biffle, held him by his shirt, and the two men exchanged words. Harvick looked absolutely furious and the two men were separated by crew members.

The same year saw another incident involving Harvick. However, this time the consequences were worse. Kevin Harvick made contact from behind with Coy Gibbs in a Truck Series race and spun him. In the aftermath of the incident, Harvick was asked by NASCAR officials to get off the track and park his car.

It was not the wreck that caused such a severe punishment, but the fact that Harvick said he would do it, beforehand. Gibbs spun Harvick earlier in the race, after which Harvick said on his team radio that ‘he was going to get Gibbs’. Harvick was already on probation for the incident with Biffle that was just a couple of weeks before it. That prompted NASCAR to take action.

Another famous Harvick run-in that many would remember is one with Jimmie Johnson. Johnson had wrecked Harvick in a playoff race in 2015 at Chicagoland Speedway. They made contact and Harvick spun and went into the wall. After the race, he had a rather heated conversation with the seven-time champ.
