From racing together as newcomers while growing up to becoming top NASCAR drivers, Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace have seen each other grow.

The drivers are now two of the most talked-about drivers in the Cup Series. Blaney drives for Team Penske while Wallace competes for Richard Petty Motorsports.

Ryan Blaney recently opened up about his relationship with Bubba Wallace, and the friendship they share. Wallace recently also signed a multi-year deal with delivery service DoorDash as his primary sponsor. Blaney believes the association will help Wallace greatly.

Ryan Blaney to embarrass Bubba Wallace at his wedding

“He’s a great guy, great racer. I’m happy that he’s gotten these good opportunities as of late,” Blaney said in a recent interview.

“The DoorDash deal has been really cool when that came out. I think that’s really going to help him out in his career whether it’s with Richard Petty Motorsports or somewhere else if he ends up there,” he added.

The two drivers have known each other since they were both 10-11 years old. When asked what he would say if he was the best man at Wallace’s wedding, Blaney had a funny reply.

“Ha, I have no idea. I’d probably try to find some embarrassing story. I’ll have to look back. I’ve known Bubba since we were 10-11 years old, so I’m sure there’s something,” he said.

I have to think deep in my memory bank of an embarrassing story I could tell at his wedding. We’ve been friends for 15 years like I said. But I don’t know, I’ll have to think about it when the news comes out, if the news comes out,” he added.

Along with Wallace, drivers such as Chase Elliott and Erik Jones were also part of Blaney’s formative years in racing. Blaney said it’s great to still compete with the same guys that he raced with as a kid, all of whom are now at the highest level.

“That part is awesome. You see these kids that you raced against when you were 10, 11, 12 years old and now you’re racing on Sundays, the ultimate goal of what you wanted to do when you were that young,” Blaney expressed.
