In July 2023, news broke that Busch Light had inked a multi-year deal to become the primary sponsor for Ross Chastain‘s Trackhouse Racing team starting in 2024. This move came on the heels of Kevin Harvick‘s retirement, after which Busch Light shifted its support to Trackhouse Racing. With Ross Chastain’s sponsors switching gears, his new car is set to sport a fresh look, a change that has been sparking curiosity among fans. However, the cat seems to be out of the bag as a premature listing on eBay unveiled a picture of the car’s design, which was yet to be officially released. The early reveal could throw a spanner in the works, potentially affecting the business dynamics of this much-anticipated launch.

In the racing world, teams and sponsors usually hold their cards close to their chest, often waiting until the last moment (or week) to unveil new car models or paint schemes. The strategy whips up excitement and curiosity, drawing crowds to the stadiums to see the cars zoom by in real-time. But the premature leak of Ross Chastain’s 2024 Busch Light scheme on eBay under the guise of a “Busch light beer NASCAR tin tracker sign”, could throw a wrench into the plans of both the team and Busch Light.

But this isn’t the first time the NASCAR world has seen a premature reveal of a car’s design. A similar episode unfolded with Tony Stewart’s squad before the Talladega race a few months ago. Drivers Ryan Preece and Chase Briscoe from Stewart-Haas Racing were all set to wow the audience in their cars, decked out in new, eye-catching liveries that nodded to the cult-favorite sports parody movie, “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.”

Owing to the film’s enduring popularity, Stewart-Haas Racing had joined forces with Wonder Bread for the Talladega showdown. Yet, there was a pitfall. Publix revealed the look of the car too soon and there was Preece’s car’s paint scheme out in the open before it was meant to be! This premature revelation certainly put a blemish on Tony Stewart’s team’s meticulously planned marketing strategy.

When a keen-eyed NASCAR fan stumbled upon the listing and shared it on Reddit showcasing the design of Ross Chastain’s upcoming Toyota, the community was quick to flood the platform with their two cents. One fan kept it short and sweet, “I dig it. If they keep it the same all, year could become an iconic livery.” Another summed up their admiration in just one word: “Hawt.”

One admirer, struck by its allure, commented, “This is fire!” Another drew parallels to Coors Light, remarking, “This gives me Coors Light vibes but I like it a lot.” A thoughtful fan pondered the new scheme’s influence on Chastain’s persona, saying, “I love it honestly. It’s gives Ross’ own identity into his Busch era.”
