The NASCAR world is well acquainted with the on-track rivalry between 23XI Racing owner Denny Hamlin and Team Penske driver Joey Logano. We often notice the two talking before the race. But does that mean there is any friendship brewing or is it just the sportsman spirit?

While it may not be intentional, the two always find a way to display their rivalry in action on tracks. Their fans certainly enjoy all the drama, but Hamlin shares what exactly goes on in his mind. In a recent podcast episode of Actions Detrimental with Denny Hamlin, Jared Allen, his co-host shared about the pre-race scenario. He mentioned that most drivers are seen chatting and looking like best buds before the race. Allen asked Hamlin how he deals with his rivals or wishes them good luck and then races to them like a dirtbag on the tracks.

Hamlin opens up regarding his camaraderie with Joey Logano

Joe Gibbs Racing driver mentioned that he and two-time Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano do that. He said, “Honestly I talked to Logano as regular as anybody off the racetrack. But I know that as soon as they throw the green, and there’s been many times that I’ll speak with him about racing or safety or something with the driver’s council before the race.”

Keeping it very real and not faking anything at all, he said, “But I’m not making believe that like, Oh, we’re best friends now. I know on the racetrack we’re going to race cutthroat. That’s just the way that we are. I mean, that’s just the way our rivalry has always been.”

Denny Hamlin shares his Super Bowl excitement

Denny Hamlin has been super ecstatic about his recent win at the Super Bowl recently. While it was nothing related to racing, it was still rewarding for him to witness his favorite team win. Hamlin had bet on the game’s anthem and shared in one of his podcasts about how he won the bet. He shared his love for the game as well as his excitement about the win. $65-million-worth Hamlin revealed more about his win on the podcast. Thrilled with the win, and for his love for cars, he announced to just buy cars for the whole family.
